Atomic Structure Toolkit Features:

• This toolkit helps students understand electron configurations and  atomic orbitals.
• Students can write electron configurations in three different formats:
  - by placing electrons in an energy-level diagram
  - by putting them into a box diagram
  - by writing them using s, p and d-orbitals.
• All three formats are displayed next to a Bohr diagram of the atom.
• All the formats are simultaneously revised as the student adds electrons.
• Students can explore the electron density of s, p and d-orbitals.
• Atomic properties (electronegativity, electron affinity, ionization potential, atomic  size) can be plotted against atomic number or compared with other atoms.
